Numerous congratulations have been sent to the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the Belarusian people on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, sb.by reports citing the Belarusian leader’s press service



Foreign leaders, prominent figures from various fields, and heads of international organisations have sent their wishes for peace, prosperity and well-being to the Belarusian people, along with heartfelt messages to veterans and those who contributed on the home front.


In his congratulatory message, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasised that Victory Day is forever inscribed in the shared history of the two countries as a symbol of courage, heroism and selflessness.


“Russians and Belarusians will never forget the heroic deeds of the front-line soldiers, partisans and underground fighters who, at great cost and sacrifice, defeated Nazism,” the message reads. “It is our moral responsibility to preserve and pass down to future generations the bonds of brotherly friendship and mutual support forged during the harsh war years, and, naturally, to jointly and firmly oppose any attempts to justify the crimes of the Hitlerites and their accomplices, as well as the resurgence of the hateful Nazi ideology.”


“We deeply appreciate the contribution of our Belarusian friends in ensuring the defence capabilities and security of the Union State. I am confident that by working together, our peoples will be able to honourably overcome any challenges,” Vladimir Putin stated.


The Russian leader also extended his warmest congratulations to all veterans living in Belarus, expressing deep gratitude and wishing them good health, spiritual vigour and longevity.


In his congratulatory message to the Belarusian leader, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that on Victory Day, descendants honour the front-line soldiers and home front workers with profound appreciation for their extraordinary bravery and dedicated efforts.


“I am convinced that the unity and friendship of our peoples, forged through severe trials, will continue to serve as a solid foundation for further strengthening the multifaceted relations between Kazakhstan and Belarus,” the message states.


Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also conveyed sincere appreciation to the war veterans and home front workers, and wished the brotherly people of Belarus well-being and prosperity.


Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his message, emphasised that the Uzbek and Belarusian peoples stood shoulder to shoulder through the most difficult wartime trials and made an invaluable contribution to achieving the Great Victory.


“On this momentous day, we bow our heads in memory of the heroes who gave their lives for peace and freedom, mourn the countless victims of fascism, and gratefully honour the veterans who brought Victory closer both on the front lines and at home,” the message reads.


Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko health, happiness and prosperity, and extended wishes of peace and prosperity to the friendly Belarusian people.


President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that May 9th is a holiday that has become a symbol of unmatched heroism, valour and self-sacrifice.


“We deeply honour the memory of all heroes who defended the freedom of their Homeland at the cost of irreparable losses and hardships,” the congratulatory message reads. “I am convinced that the traditions of friendship and mutual support, forged during years of severe trials, will continue to serve as a reliable foundation for the development and strengthening of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus.”


Ilham Aliyev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko, all war veterans and home front workers, as well as the entire friendly Belarusian nation happiness and well-being.


President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed confidence that the unshakable spirit of the universal Victory in the Great Patriotic War will continue to serve as a strong basis for the comprehensive development and strengthening of relations between Belarus and Tajikistan, grounded in friendship, mutual respect and trust.


“On the sacred day of May 9th, we bow our heads in memory of those who did not return from the battlefields, pay tribute to the heroes who defended our freedom, to the feats and valour of our ancestors on the front, and to their selfless labour on the home front,” the Tajik leader noted.


Emomali Rahmon wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health and continued success in his responsible state activities, and he wished the friendly people of Belarus peace, prosperity and sustainable development.


The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, in his congratulatory message, highly praised Belarus’ efforts to preserve the historical truth about the war and emphasised the inadmissibility of any attempts to distort it.


“I am confident that shared values, historical memory, as well as traditions of friendship, mutual respect, and support between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus will continue to contribute to the further strengthening of allied and partnership relations between our states,” he stressed.


Sadyr Japarov wished Aleksandr Lukashenko health and well-being, and the people of Belarus peace and prosperity.


The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in his congratulatory message, noted that Victory Day is a bright holiday symbolising peace, goodwill and humanism. “On this day, we respectfully remember our heroes who fought on the front and worked tirelessly at home for the freedom and future of generations. I am convinced that the memory of their feat will remain a strong foundation for strengthening friendship and comprehensive co-operation between our countries,” the message said.


The President of Turkmenistan wished the President of Belarus strong health, happiness and inexhaustible energy, and the friendly Belarusian people well-being and prosperity.


A congratulatory message was also received from the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. “This important date will forever remain in our shared history as a day of great heroism and deep respect for the generation of victors,” the message stated.


Congratulations were also sent to the Belarusian leader by the heads of the CIS member states, the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
