PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (TNND) — A confirmed MS-13 gang member living in Florida illegally was arrested during a coordinated operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, according to federal authorities.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Saturday announced the arrest of 31-year-old Luis Merary Peralta-Sevilla, a Honduran national, on April 14 in Palm Beach County.

“He is a member of MS-13, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and he’s currently pending removal proceedings with a Department of Justice immigration judge,” ICE Director Todd M. Lyons said in a news release.”He’ll stay in our custody pending the outcome of those proceedings,” Lyons added.

ICE said Peralta-Sevilla was taken into custody during a traffic stop, with the operation involving ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Florida Highway Patrol.

Fox News obtained video of the arrest, which shows Peralta-Sevilla getting out of his truck before officers place him in handcuff. ICE said his truck was seized “due to violations related to driving without a valid license.”

Peralta-Sevilla first entered the U.S. illegally in July 2013 and was encountered by Border Patrol agents in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, according to ICE. He admitted to being in the country illegally and was later released on bond while awaiting immigration proceedings, the agency said.

Peralta-Sevilla’s upcoming immigration court hearing was scheduled for April 2027, ICE noted.

The agency said Peralta-Sevilla is currently being held in the Palm Beach County Jail while awaiting transfer to ICE custody as removal proceedings continue.

“ICE continues to conduct routine daily immigration enforcement around the country as part of the agency’s effort to arrest criminal aliens and other immigration violators with no legal basis to remain in the United States,” the agency said.
