AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Thomson High School held its second annual vendor festival Saturday to teach the community about science.
A robotics team and JROTC drone team were on site for demonstrations.
The science department started the event as a way to get students more interested in the subject.
“I was trying to build back the love for science and once some of the students in high schools a lot of people say I don’t like science so try to build that up and give them the opportunity to go beyond not just medical school to see the different variety of science careers that they can adventure out to,” said Ayasia Hampton, Thomson High School science department head.
Hampton said the festival helps fund monthly meet-ups for science labs, competition fees and speakers.
