NSF arachnophobia. Friend or foe? Anyone can identify it? Looks vicious Tags:ireland 11 comments Looks like a giant house spider. They start looking for mates around now. Crikey that’s a big fella ! Use Google lens on it ? ….and let us know ! One of the bigger ones I’ve seen All spiders in Ireland are friends. Some of them are big ugly scary friends but friends nonetheless I’m pretty sure that’s a spider. Never seen any of them’uns up in Donegal, unfortunately I don’t think I could sleep at night knowing this cunt is lurking in my room somewhere They first emerged in Finglas in the late 70s I’m pretty sure it’s asking you on a date. It brought flowers and everything and now you’re friend or foe zoning it. r/spiders will be able to identify. Looks like a [giant European house spider](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_house_spider) and they’re completely harmless. Light brown I’d say a cardinal spider. Giant house spider looks the same but is dark brown to almost black looking. I used to have tons of these in and around my house. I now live under a pile of ash. I had one of these under my decking, at least twice that size. I called him Gary, until he got squished. One year later, there’s another one. I call him Gary the Second. This is what scares me about spiders in Ireland 😬 they look so big. How do you avoid them? Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
