The Civil Protection Department said that five divers were rescued in a coordinated sea rescue operation after they were unable to safely return to shore following a dive off Qbajjar, Gozo.
The five divers were rescued by members of the Civil Protection Department (CPD) and the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) immediately after they were notified about the situation on early Sunday afternoon.
The CPD said that all five divers were successfully located and brought safely back to land after rescue teams from Fire Stations 6 and 7 were quickly dispatched to the scene.
In its statement on Facebook, the CPD extended its appreciation to all responding entities for their “swift coordination, professionalism, and assistance throughout the operation.”
No injuries were reported.
