On Sunday afternoon, a storm will move over Switzerland, after which the temperature will drop. The Ascension weekend will probably be “drained”.

The day started warm and sunny with some cloud fields thickening towards midday. In the afternoon, a storm swept across Switzerland, bringing at times torrential rain, according to MeteoSchweiz.

It’s the start of a tough week. The temperature in the lowlands drops from 21 degrees Celsius on Sunday to 11 degrees on Monday. While Tuesday and Wednesday will be cloudy but dry, rain is expected over the weekend.

In the second half of the day there are some rain and storms, sometimes strong, writes Meteoschweiz. However, the authority does not warn of a risk of bad weather. In the early afternoon, a storm develops in Western Switzerland and then moves northeast.

The Olten-Aarau region will be particularly affected from 5 p.m. and Lucerne from 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., the storm reaches Zurich weakened and at 8 p.m. it re-forms over St. Gallen.

It will continue until Wednesday.

Monday starts with a lot of clouds and brings widespread precipitation. In the afternoon it will be partly cloudy with showers, and isolated storms are possible. In between there may be short sunny periods. In the evening and night there are again widespread precipitation, partly heavy.

On Tuesday there will be some residual precipitation in the morning. After that, the weather will brighten up a bit. On the northern slope of the Alps it will be very cloudy. The same will continue on Wednesday. In the second half of the day there will be more sun. But the first spring clouds are already forming in the Alps, albinfo.chs reports.

The Ascension weekend is still too far away to be able to make detailed predictions. However, the first signs do not look good. Thursday will be partly cloudy and more precipitation is expected during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 14 degrees.

Friday will be “probably mostly cloudy with some showers”. Saturday will continue with clouds and isolated showers. However, these will decrease in the evening. Sunday will probably remain dry and even have some sunshine again.
