A Jet2 flight from Manchester Airport diverted to London Gatwick on Sunday night (May 10) amid reports of a mid-air ’emergency’.
The flight to Reus in Catalonia, Spain, was forced to make the diversion while passing over the south coast and English channel, later landing in Gatwick at around 4pm.
The cause of the diversion has not been confirmed, but it was reported this followed a mid-air ’emergency’.

The flight path shows how the aircraft travelled south from Manchester, over Cheshire, Birmingham and Reading before reaching the coast near Brighton.

After reaching the English Channel, the Boeing 737 was then diverted, turning north over High Weald and towards London Gatwick.
Further details have not yet been confirmed. Jet2 has been approached for a full statement.
