“Italy will be one of the countries hosting three of the digital euro data centers, should the regulation be approved. It is a technological and industrial opportunity.”
This was stated by Marco Pieroni, head of the digital euro unit at the Bank of Italy, during the event “The Digital Euro: A Political and Strategic Choice for the EU,” organized by the Italian Banking Association (ABI) at the European Parliament.
“Italy is in constant contact with citizens and stakeholders, contributing to an open dialogue in which the Bank of Italy is also a participant,” he noted.
