The Vatican Bank, the
Institute for Religious Works (IOR), said in its 14th annual
report on Monday that it made a profit of 51 million euros in
2025, an increase of 55.5% with respect to the previous year.
“The significant increase in net profit was primarily driven by
improved operating performance, reflecting active and
disciplined portfolio management as well as favourable market
conditions,” the bank said.
“Overall profitability increased substantially, further
supported by the positive movement in Pension Fund reserves”.
It added that, given the results, Pope Leo XIV would get a
dividend of 24.3 million euros.
