Don’t know why they’re annoyed, they’ve got sovereignty and a black passport.
It’s almost like there was a choice to avoid this…
Why so upset, just more time to enjoy the national pastime of queuing
I bet 90% of those voted ‘stupid’, for the rest of us it’s a resigned sigh.
Irish passport holders may breeze through queues in European airports but they’re not doing it in Dublin. The airport has lost the ability to process people through check in and security.
Brexit means Brexit yo
I guess it’s better British people are only looking like they’d kill the Irish this time.
I completely agree with the checks etc, but I still don’t get why it has to be manually stamped. Surely in the modern world we can do better with the passport scanners?
Looking forward to making use of my Irish passport on the stag go to Barcelona that I’ll be on the weekend after next, with 10 Brexit voters.
> Some travellers have claimed Irish citizens are getting “preferential treatment” with an “EU fast lane”.
Yes. It’s called being an EU citizen. We had that preferential treatment for a long time as well.
Lots of people are very quickly discovering that Project Fear was more like Project Reality.
Maybe around 37% of these people would like to reconsider their vote?
None of them who voted Leave have any right to complain.
Ah sure wait till there’s wee crowns on pint glasses again
That’ll show em
People were told this would happen. Why are they surprised that it came to fruition? Brexit voters seemed really shocked that the EU is not willing to bend immigration law just because they are British. If I cancel my gym membership then I cannot act surprised if my membership card no longer gets me through the gates, especially when it is something I chose to do myself. Being British does not come with special privileges, those were a benefit of being in the EU.
Always makes me laugh my mate’s grandparents voted Brexit then has to sell their Spanish villa recently and move back
I’ve still got a “Bollocks to Brexit” sticker stuck on the back of my passport.
Never fails to get a smirk from the EU border people.
There’s always been two lanes for EU citizens and third country passport holders. It’s just they probably never noticed before.
Fuuck brexit was so dumb. Thank you all for voting leave while having next to no clue of the implications ya drunk fucks.
Don’t forget that everyone knew exactly what they voted for.

Ah, the benefits of Brexit! /s
Ha ha, when I was working in Germany (pre brexit)we used to call the British terminal the Brexit terminal. I travelled back once a month so used a lot of schengen terminals as connecting flights. For the grief it gets, I loved it. If I remember correctly you only needed to show ID, not a passport. Everything was always smoother and less queues. Quite why anyone thought leaving would make things better is beyond me.
“you won, get over it”
As someone still travelling into the EU a lot with my German Fiancé, I feel I can give at least a little insight on this.
Entering the EU
– I’ve noticed the main reason for huge delays going into Europe tends to be the gates our flights arrive in. They seem to be primarily designated toward the EU chip – and so with British nationals arriving in Europe who can no longer use these machines, they are left to wait with a maximum of maybe 2 passport desks at times. I think over time, this will improve especially as flights get pushed to gates more handled for non-EU domestic flights.

Entering the UK
– For me and my Fiancé based on 3 airports – London Heathrow, Manchester and Luton airport, all 3 have been extremely good at entering for EU nationals. Every gate seems to 9/10 time lead to a hall filled with around 9 passport control desks, but the main thing is the willingness to still use the EU gates that some EU countries just don’t want British nationals to use.

Everything will get better, but right now it is fairly accurate British people are waiting, but not at the fault of the EU – more flight scheduling
Well what the fuck did they think would happen when we left the eu. Guy I worked with, late 50s, had plans to retire to Spain. Very pro Brexit. Not going now are you Paul, you’ll have to retire to rainy England you soft headed racist thoughtless prick.
>**Irish passport holders** have reportedly breezed past agonising lines at **European airports** this summer while given “looks that could kill” by **Brits**.
Oh look, if it isn’t the consequences of leaving the EU. Why give the Irish dirty looks because they haven’t left the EU and still enjoy the benefits of being a member? Not their fault we are stupid.
What leaving the European Union means we don’t get the benefits of the EU I am shocked
Anna Soubry, the most fervently pro-European minister in the cabinet,
has escalated her long-running feud with Nigel Farage by accusing the
Ukip leader of seeking to “cover up the serious consequences” of a UK
exit from the EU.
Well if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions
Yeah having to queue for a bit longer than before is definitely one of the main issues from Brexit.
Like my step father who’s lived in Spain since 2001 and got himself Spanish citizenship and a Spanish driving licence and has been completely unaffected by Brexit in Spain.
There’s a couple I used to know. *Strongly* racist Brextremists. “You can call a a dog a horse but she won’t win the national” sort of racism.
They retired to a villa in the south of France in 2016, not long after the referendum.
They had to sell it and move back in March this year, something about property rules and non-EU ownership being difficult and expensive. The best line:
“They wouldn’t dare do it to the fucking Germans. Always British they go after.”
This is the Leave mindset. It’s a constant persecution complex. They literally got everything they wanted, hard Brexit, quick transition, clean break, government controlled by their own kind, but *they’re the victims here.*
As was voted for, enjoy the slow lane and looking at just how BLOOO your passport is.
As usual brits are fuken thick and don’t understand a thing what’s happening.
Oh dear, still think they occupy the Irish.
I hope the Brits who are being treated as the non-EU travellers they voted to be are enjoying looking at their blue passports while they wait for hours.
