Princess Eugenie reportedly had no interest in sharing her third pregnancy news with her disgraced father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, leaving Sarah Ferguson to break the news instead.

According to a DailyMail.com source, the cold shoulder reflects just how much Mountbatten-Windsor’s controversies have strained his relationship with his youngest daughter.

Eugenie allegedly passed off the task to her mother, with Mountbatten-Windsor learning he was going to become a grandfather for the fifth time through a phone call from his ex-wife rather than his own daughter.

“It’s difficult to know how he will be feeling about it,” a source told the Daily Mail before revealing where things stand between Eugenie and her father.

“He only took a real interest in Eugenie’s wedding when he wanted to take center stage, demanding it be as grand as [Prince] Harry and Meghan [Markle]’s six months earlier,” the insider added.

King Charles gets a very different treatment

King Charles III reportedly took the pregnancy news well, though it took some encouragement from Zara Tindall to convince Eugenie to reach out to their uncle in the first place.

Unlike her father, Charles received an Easter card and a letter from Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, sharing the happy news.

“She and Jack were quite surprised by the warmth of the Palace response,” a source told the Daily Mail, adding that both had “feared a frostier reception” from the king.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s legal troubles

While the couple looks ahead to welcoming a new baby, Mountbatten-Windsor’s past continues to catch up with him.

King Charles stripped him of his royal titles in October 2025 following accusations that he assaulted the late Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 — allegations Mountbatten-Windsor has denied.

His legal troubles continued in February, when he was arrested on public office misconduct charges after allegedly sharing confidential information to his late associate Jeffrey Epstein.

On top of everything else, Mountbatten-Windsor was pushed out of Royal Lodge earlier this year and moved into a more modest property on the king’s Sandringham Estate.
