Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing renewed scrutiny over an alleged remark made to a flight attendant during a 2010 British Airways flight, detailed in a newly updated book by royal biographer Andrew Lownie.
The former Duke of York has faced significant public criticism over his reported connections to Jeffrey Epstein and his repeated mention in documents tied to the Epstein case.
‘Andrew’s Strange Behaviour Has Affected So Many People’
According toExpress UK, Andrew Lownie, a royal biographer, has recently updated his book, The Rise and Fall of the House of York. In the newest edition of the book, he detailed an alleged conversation between Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and an air hostess of British Airways.

Under a chapter titled “Strange Behaviour,” he wrote, “Andrew’s strange behaviour has affected so many people.”
Lownie wrote that the alleged incident took place in 2010, when Andrew was traveling in first class on a British Airways flight to New York. During the flight, he asked for a bottle of water but found it too cold. Lownie wrote that when the flight attendant apologized and explained all the water was in the chiller, Andrew “undid his flies, shoved the bottle of water down his trousers and said, ‘This will warm it up.'”
That was not the only incident detailed in the book. Lownie also described an incident during a food break in which Andrew’s Labrador snatched a sausage roll from a guest’s hand. According to the book, Andrew was infuriated and allegedly “kicked his dog in the head, leaving her whimpering on the ground.”
When a nearby person challenged him over the incident, he replied, “P— off. It is none of your business and I will do precisely what I want to MY dogs.”
Former Prince Andrew Spends His Time Playing Video Games
In a separate report from Sky News, it was reported that the 66-year-old has stopped acting like a royal after his fall from grace. A source told Andrew Lownie that the former Duke of York has been spending time playing video games and watching golf.
The insider added, “He prioritises gaming over work, health and hygiene,” believing the games provided him “instant gratification that his actual life most often is devoid of.” Another source told the Historian that Mountbatten-Windsor claimed that he had been “completely misunderstood.”
He even described his life’s last few months as “the most distressing experience of my life.” But he is optimistic that one day the truth will be out and we will be understood.
On February 19, 2026, his 66th birthday, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office following the release of additional Epstein-related records by the U.S. Justice Department. He was released after questioning.
He has since vacated Royal Lodge and relocated to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate. King Charles is understood to be partly funding his private security.
