As President Donald Trump embarks on a trip to China for a high-stakes summit with President Xi Jinping, among those spotted was director Brett Ratner.
Ratner most recently directed the Amazon Prime documentary Melania, with First Lady Melania Trump as executive producer, and will be scouting locations for Rush Hour 4, per the New York Post’s Emily Goodin, who is traveling with the White House pool. Ratner’s spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment.
Paramount is distributing the sequel on behalf of Warner Bros., and last year, Semafor reported that Trump had pressed the Ellisons to revive the franchise.
Also traveling to China are a list of business CEOs and other top executives. Per a White House official, they include Apple’s Tim Cook, Blackrock’s Larry Fink, Blackstone’s Stephen Schwarzman, Boeing’s Kelly Ortberg, Cargill’s Brian Sikes, Citi’s Jane Fraser, Coherent’s Jim Anderson, GE Aerospace’s H. Lawrence Culp, Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon, Illumina’s Jacob Thaysen, Mastercard’s Michael Miebach, Meta’s Dina Powell McCormick, Micron’s Sanjay Mehrotra, Qualcomm’s Cristiano Amon, Tesla/SpaceX’s Elon Musk and Visa’s Ryan McInerney.
