WASHINGTON, D.C. (WAFB) – Indiana football celebrated its national championship at the White House this week, but a viral dance clip quickly brought LSU fans into the conversation.
Several Hoosiers players recreated LSU’s 2019 “Get the Gat” White House dance, the viral celebration made famous by the Tigers after their national championship season. The moment was posted by CBS Sports College Football with the caption, “Indiana with the 2019 LSU influence.”
The internet wasted little time comparing the two versions.
“Nahhhhhhh we did it better. They are too stiff,” one Instagram user commented.
Another wrote, “This one has raisins in it.”
Others were more direct: “2019 LSU >>>> 2025 Indiana,” one comment read.
Another fan added, “2019 LSU would steamroll them.”

The recreation came during Indiana’s White House visit after the Hoosiers’ championship season. President Donald Trump hosted the team Monday and praised coach Curt Cignetti for leading Indiana from a 3-9 season in 2023 to the top of college football in two years.
Trump also noted that Heisman-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza did not attend the ceremony because of NFL commitments with the Las Vegas Raiders, saying Mendoza called him before the event.
Cignetti praised his team during the ceremony, pointing to leadership, talent, character and consistency as keys to the Hoosiers’ undefeated season.
