A British toddler has reportedly been kidnapped by his father in Cyprus.

According to local police, the 29-year-old Turkish Cypriot man snatched the two-year-old child from his British mother’s home in the holiday hotspot of Limassol after illegally crossing from the north.

The dad is said to have stormed the house with an accomplice before grabbing the child and fleeing the scene in a small white car.

A manhunt is now underway to trace him, with police having already carried out a search on the getaway vehicle.

Police believe the man returned to the island’s northern Turkish-occupied territories, with an island task force alerted to the incident.

Limassol deputy police chief Lefteris Kyriakou said an arrest warrant is set to be issued for the father, who is already subject to another arrest warrant relating to a domestic abuse incident in November 2025.
