OTOKAR displayed the first Romanian-produced COBRA II 4×4 tactical armoured vehicle in the BSDA2026 defence exhibition, held in Romania’s capital, Bucharest.
The first “European COBRA II” produced in Romanian facilities within the scope of the deal between OTOKAR and Romania for 1059 units in different configurations has been displayed in the BSDA2026 defence exhibition at Bucharest.
The first local production specimen is in pickup configuration with a flatbed section and a manually operated 12.7 mm machine gun.
The initial delivery of 270+ COBRA II 4×4 armoured vehicles was produced by OTOKAR in Türkiye, with a great portion of them having entered service with the Romanian Army not long ago.
OTOKAR has also acquired Automecanica SA in Romania for approximately €85 million to expand its production capability abroad towards Europe, in which the Turkish armoured vehicle manufacturer is highly active with both delivered vehicles and ongoing tenders.
