Ukraine is ramping up its collaborative defense efforts by dispatching a team of experts to Latvia to assist with the country’s air defense systems. This move follows incidents of Ukrainian drones reportedly impacting Latvian infrastructure after entering through Russian airspace.
The announcement was made by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. He emphasized the necessity of international cooperation to fortify Europe’s defense frameworks, highlighting the development via a social media platform, X, subsequent to consultations with Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics in Bucharest.
In addition to providing direct assistance, Ukraine is also pursuing a comprehensive drone cooperation agreement with Latvia, aiming to enhance collective security measures in the region.
