Today in Maribor, Slovenia, Podim concluded—the catalyst event for the Alps-Adriatic and Western Balkans regions dedicated to the startup world, which also saw the participation of Italian companies. The ICE Agency in Ljubljana organized the participation of eleven leading Italian companies (10 startups and 1 innovative SME), active in the energy, medical, agri-food, enterprise software, infrastructure, and cybersecurity sectors.
During the three-day event, the companies participated in an intensive program of meetings with investors, executives, and entrepreneurs. The event confirms Podim, and Slovenia more broadly, as a major hub for innovation in Central and Eastern Europe, thanks to a dynamic ecosystem strengthened earlier this year with the inauguration in Ljubljana of the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence, supported by €10 million in public funds, and with the launch of the Slovenian AI Factory (Slaif), a strategic €135 million project linked to a new European supercomputer for artificial intelligence.
