Just saw this today in the cinema. Best movie I’ve watched in awhile. Would you agree…?

  1. It has gun in the title! What were you thinking you’re being sublim in nally influenced… Who the fuck is Nally in anyway?

  2. Loved it so much I saw it twice. Wasn’t as ‘fuck yeh Merica’ as I thought it would be, but a good script, well cast, peril, suspense, jokes and ACTION. kind of film you’ll watch on Christmas Day in 5 years time and be all excited again.

As batshit as he can be in his personal life, Tom Cruise is THE Movie Star

  3. Best action movie I seen in a while yeah.

Best movie i seen this year so far is probably Northman .

Tom Cruise is a guy who makes movies for the big screen, he knows what works and surrounds himself with professionals. The next mission impossible installments will be to the same high standards im sure.

Will also give him a nod for best cameo or unexpected performance for Tropic Thunder.

  4. Went to see it this morning with my son… Yeah deffo the most enjoyable cinema experience in a while. Nothing convoluted or overly long like a lot of films these days . Just simple fun. Not crazy cheesy but nostalgic all the same. Nearly cried during one bit.

  5. I normally wouldn’t watch a tom cruise movie because he’s a total crackpot and his face irritates me but seeing the comments here is making me reconsider.

  6. It’s a brilliant film. I went to it with my son and have non stop told him to watch the original. Released 20 years before he was born

  7. Nice simple, kickshit movie with little to no plot line. Exactly what you need sometimes. Saw it in the cinema as well today it was great.

  8. Been waiting for 35 years, after watching the original over and over again.
    It delivered.
I was expecting and hoping to be good, but not that good.

  9. It was good but certainly not the film the critics were making it out to be.

I went expecting it to be the greatest action film made in a generation but any of the recent Mission Impossible movies comfortably top it on that score.

  10. I loved the original TopGun, so I’ve been looking forward to Maverick since the day it was announced as happening.

We went as a family – my wife, 2 kids and myself. My daughter was never going to admit that she liked it but everyone else loved it. This was Dubliner standard cheddar but by God was it good fun. No ridiculous multiverse criss crossing storylines that we’ve come to expect with Marvel etc.

My father in law who hasn’t been to a cinema in at least 20 years went to see it. He really enjoyed it.

The fastest 2? hours I’ve ever spent in the cinema. I advise anyone who hasn’t seen it to go see it – leave the reality of 2022 at the door and buckle in!

  11. Loved it a lot. The scene where Maverick is simulating the mission nearly had me pulling lumps out of the armrests it was that tense.

  12. As someone who was dragged to see it with himself….I loved every minute of it !

The last 30 minutes were just pure fun and the flying scenes were incredible !

  13. Cracker yeah. The stunts and sequences are unreal. Ya have to hand it to cruise. He simply hates green screen and that shit is refreshing.

  14. I remember being so pissed off when this was delayed over 2 years ago due to Covid. Fair play to Cruise, he wouldn’t let them release it on any streaming platforms, insisted on a cinema only release. He may be bats but he knows his movie making.

Was worth the wait IMO, I left the cinema with a big stupid smile on my face, it’s been a long time since I enjoyed a movie that much.

  15. A nice dose of American military propaganda for the doses. People still getting swept up by bombastic ‘murica, fuck yeah’ shite. Twats

  16. 100%. The fact the managed to replicate so many of the original scenes without it feeling forced, cheesy or fake was just magic. I smiled the whole way thru.

  17. It was an actual proper “movie”, not a film. Storytelling, entertainment, giving the people what they want on the best best way. I was gobsmacked how well they handled it.
