A train derailed near Belgorod when a two-meter section of track turned out to be missing.
An electric train traveling between Razumnoye and Tomarovka derailed in the Yakovlevsky District of the Belgorod Region, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported. “According to preliminary reports, the incident was caused by a missing track of approximately two meters,” he wrote on Telegram. He added that the driver was forced to apply emergency braking, but was unable to prevent half the train car from derailing. There were 15 people on board the train at the time of the accident. One woman suffered a laceration to her leg and a bruised back. She was hospitalized.
