The Kazakhstani delegation was headed by Dastan Suleimenov, Director of the International Legal Department of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Belarusian side was represented by Andrei Popkov, Head of the Main Treaty and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
During the consultations, both sides carried out a detailed review of the current bilateral treaty and legal framework, assessing its overall structure and identifying potential directions for further improvement and modernization.
The participants also discussed the procedures involved in treaty-making in both countries, including the relevant regulatory and legal mechanisms that govern these processes. A significant part of the meeting was devoted to sharing experience on the registration, systematization, and archiving of international legal documents.
In addition, the delegations exchanged views on key issues and current trends in international law that are shaping the global legal environment.
The discussions were held in a constructive and cooperative atmosphere, reaffirming the shared interest of both sides in further strengthening collaboration between the legal departments of the two foreign ministries. By mutual agreement, the next round of consultations will be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
