Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., today announced that it has provided 13 Enviro100EV single-deck buses to Go-Ahead London, a subsidiary of the Go-Ahead Group, for Transport for London (TfL) route 322.
Newly contracted by TfL to Go-Ahead London, Sydenham Garage took over the operation of the route on 25th April, with the Enviro100EV next-generation buses running on a 15-minute frequency between Crystal Palace and Clapham Common.
The new buses are among a total of 60 Enviro100EV midibuses already operated by Go-Ahead London or soon to be added to the fleet.
Called the ‘big small bus’ by the manufacturer, the Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV is perfect for efficient, frequent operation through congested or narrow streets, while still providing a high level of passenger comfort and accessibility. In TfL specification, it has 21 seats plus further capacity for 24 standees, in compact dimensions of just 8.5m length and 2.35m width.
Its Driventic VEDS driveline combines with large 354kWh batteries to offer market-leading range on a single charge, ideal for intensive use on major city bus networks.
The original batteries can complete two consecutive seven-year contracts without replacement as part of the manufacturer’s 15-year battery warranty, making the bus an ideal choice for operators planning current and future TfL routes.
Go-Ahead London, the capital’s largest bus operator, now runs more than 1,000 zero-emission buses across its 2,500-strong fleet. The 13 Enviro100EV are the first electric buses launched from Go-Ahead London’s new Sydenham Garage, which opened in September 2025 and has now become the operator’s 14th depot to run electric buses.
Andy Edwards, Managing Director of Go-Ahead London, said: “Route 322 serves some of the busiest and most densely connected parts of south London, and these 13 Enviro100EV buses will deliver a genuinely better experience for the thousands of customers who rely on it every day.
“Having recently hit the milestone of 1,000 zero-emission buses in London, we’re looking forward to working in close partnership with Alexander Dennis to accelerate that transition further.
“Alongside the Mayor and Transport for London, we are committed to converting the capital’s bus fleet to zero emission, as part of our wider Group goal of a fully zero-emission fleet across Go-Ahead by 2035.”
Mark Ballam, National Account Manager at Alexander Dennis, said: “We are thrilled to see more Enviro100EV land on the streets of London, especially on this important route between Crystal Palace and Clapham Common, operating from the new Sydenham depot.
“With its deceptive size, ‘big bus’ feel and cutting-edge technology, the Enviro100EV is one of the greenest, most efficient buses on the market, and it’s fantastic to see them finding their place in Go-Ahead London’s operations.”
