The Estonian government is considering the possibility of sending a military contingent to the Strait of Hormuz.

The options under discussion include dispatching staff officers, underwater robotics teams, and a minehunter vessel.

According to ERR, the information was announced by Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.

The minister said that the financial cost of the options and the needs of allies are currently being assessed. If a naval deployment is selected, the mission could involve between 40 and 60 personnel.

According to the report, the mission initiated by France and United Kingdom is expected to operate on a rotational basis after the military conflict comes to an end.
