Hello everyone, a couple of weeks ago i received a letter by aok which states that I am “abgemeldet” (which is not true cause i went there on October stating that i intend to stay with them till the end of my studies and we did estimate that i will be a student till march 2023 here in Germany) I am a client since october 2020. (I was 24)
Now I am 25 years ago, i have never paid anything (they stated that at the moment italy is basically paying for me though the european card which is connected the aok one).
Now if I understood well i shall pay them 4 837.50 euro, this precise number is present also on this site :
https://www.aok.de/fk/sozialversicherung/beitraege-zur-sozialversicherung/grundlagen-der-beitragsberechnung/
Under the chapter: Beitragsbemessungsgrenzen on “per month” there is the same exact amount i own them.
I think there has been a misunderstanding, or can any of you understand the point of those money?
I have always been bad with bureaucracy.. and now i will be paying for it. Thanks in advance.

4837.50 Euro is the maximum income which is taken into account when people are billed the percentage-based insurance contribution. It is *not* what people pay.
It would be a *great* coincidence if you actually owed AOK that precise amount.
Can you post the letter (without any identifying information)? You don’t seem to have understood it.
You sure misunderstood that letter.
Maybe something happened and they have not received the monthly fee that was paid so far.
Do yourself a favour: Type in the text of your letter into http://www.deepl.com or translate.google.com and have the German words translated into your native language, so you get an idea what that letter is generally about, then save it to your computer for further reference. Do this with every official letter you get and you don’t understand properly.
If you have someone with better German skills, have that person call AOK on your behalf.
