Hey guys, tomorrow i want to join 2 friends that are currently cycling through hungary.

I’ll arrive in budapest and will need to travel to szekszárd. I picked the trains you can see in the picture i linked below.

Questions:
1. As you can See i’d only have 4 Minutes to switch trains in sarbogard. Sadly i cant find Info from which exact Station (number) they will depart. Can you guys help?

2. Will it be safe if i buy the Tickets tomorrow via App or should i do it today? Have a bike and 4 bike bags with me.

Thanks

  1. Sarbogard only has 2 tracks right next to each other, so you will not miss it.

I have never travelled with bikes, so I cannot help with the tickets. Although, I would buy them sooner rather than later.

  2. Oh the shittiest and slowest railway on the planet between Sárbogárd and Szekszárd. If you can go with Bus with your bikes, i recommend that way.

Otherwise, there are just two tracks, you cant miss it. But there are huge screens near every track, clearly writed the time/train/track etc.

Is it safe to buy ticket via App. Anyway i recommend you, to lock your bikes or be near them.

  3. On this line the connection in Sarbogard will wait for the train coming from Budapest to arrive so don’t worry if it’s a few minutes late.

  4. take it easy, sarbogard is small. the app is safe. much safer than the ticket officer’s language skills 😀

  5. If you need something from Szekszárd, feel free to PM me, I live in Szekszárd. And can help you in everything.
