It’s beautiful up there. You should also look at Bective Abbey. It’s amazing!
Why am I imaging a giant stone man’s morning wood poking out of his boxers.
All roads lead to Tara.
Just there this morning
Great for bird watching / training.
I know I sound mental but me and two other lads paid this guy 150 euro to bring a golden eagle and some falcons out and we got to train them for a few hours. Watched the eagle hunt down rabbits and basically hunt us haha. Did it on the hills of Tara.
Whose grave is that?
Tara had a stone kink
All I see is a giant dildo.
Ghost to the right or am I tripping.
It made a good gathering place because for high ground it’s relatively flat.
The Lia Fáil, or Stone of Destiny was the seat of the High Kings of Ireland. In Mythology it was said to sing with joy in the presence of a true King of Ireland, and rumble and roar at a false pretender to the crown.
It was one of the 4 treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the magical people who came to Ireland first.
Jaysus I love a bitta Irish Mythology.
These phalli stones are also present in France where they were believed to be helpful to women who were trying to conceive – many of the stones were not celibate even in modern times /20th century – source Graham Robb Discovery of France – excellent history of the country & people that goes off the beaten path
Its got the sploosh guard at the bottom
One of the most boring popular tourist destinations in Ireland IMO. Historically very interesting, but as a place to visit it’s shite.
