GRAND FORKS — The Sons of Norway Gyda Varden Lodge is hosting a Syttende Mai celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, commemorating the day in 1814 when the country’s constitution was signed and ratified.

The Taste of Norway luncheon platter, $15 each, will feature traditional foods.

The cash-only event at the lodge, 1401 Ninth Ave.S., will include a bake sale and a raffle. There will also be live Norwegian folk music inside during most of the event.

The luncheon platter will include a Norwegian-style smørbrød (sandwich), Norwegian cookies, one lefse and a choice of bløtkake (Norwegian birthday cake), mandelkake (almond cake) or a cup of riskrem (ricecream).
