NAVER Cloud announced on the 18th that it introduced the artificial intelligence (AI) safety phone service “NAVER CareCall” at the Government & Public Sector Week Japan 2026 held in Tokyo, Japan from the 13th to the 15th.

Local government and public week is the largest exhibition in the field of smart city and public digital transformation (DX) sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. As of last year, about 21,000 officials from 554 local governments attended.

NAVER Cloud received great response by providing a space for visitors to experience the care call service in person at this exhibition. Visitors to the site were able to experience natural conversations, such as receiving care calls directly from their smartphones and sharing daily safety and health conditions with AI.

In particular, CareCall’s unique interactive AI technology and interactive function were praised by officials from major Japanese local governments who visited the site as practical solutions that could be introduced immediately.

During the exhibition, NAVER Cloud conducted consultations with a number of local governments interested in introducing care calls and expanded their business contacts nationwide. Officials who completed the consultation showed high confidence in the care call’s natural Japanese proficiency as well as its proven success stories in Japan.

In fact, Naver Care Call has been introduced in Izumo City, one of Japan’s oldest cities, since June last year. Locally, care calls have settled into an AI infrastructure that reduces care gaps due to labor shortages by replacing repeated tasks of welfare personnel.

In this exhibition, NAVER Cloud held a seminar under the theme of “Digital Transformation of Elderly Care” with Izumoshi to share the demonstration process and operational performance of the care call.

“If we took the first step into the Japanese public market with Izumoshi cooperation last year, it is meaningful that we have expanded our contact point by meeting local government officials across the country,” said Kim Yoo-won, CEO of NAVER Cloud. “As the demand for care in Japan continues to increase, we will expand our position in the Japanese public market as a partner to solve practical problems in the field with AI technology.”
