  1. Would they please fucking put some energy into doing their actual job!

This scare tactics shite doesn’t work anymore. People who hate SF are already voting for FG…

  2. I love how they have an 18 pages plan for SF but not a fucking idea on how to solve the housing crisis, the inflation, the HSE crisis and so and so… ffs

  3. Fine Gael attacking opponents instead of delivering on policy…and they plan to call their opposition Trumpian…

  4. Leo had a go at Pearse Doherty for bringing up an ongoing investigation into something he had done while in office as taoiseach, telling him “it says a lot about your character” for bringing up something that is a “personal” matter. Then in the same breath, Leo tells everyone that Pearse was nabbed by the gards when he was a kid.

Now Leo has a whole novel of stories about SF…

The fuck does that say about Leo’s character?

  5. Do something about the problems facing the country you useless pack of fucks. We have a housing crisis, a cost of living crisis, a potential energy crisis, and feck know how many other crises I’m forgetting about, but this shower of utter arseholes are more interested in coming up with ways to attack SF than they are about helping the people.

The more they keep this shite up, the more likely I am to vote for SF.

  6. I don’t live in the south but it sure looks like it’s worth youse giving SF a go. FFFG, they’ve made things like this and they’ve a vested interest in keeping it that way. Nothing gonna change under that lot’s rule.

  7. This would only work if they are also having policy wins to deal with issues.

As it is it just makes them look desperate to distract from their own massive failures.

  8. They must be keeping files on prominent public figures. Didn’t Alan Shatter know that Mick Wallace was cautioned by a Guarda for using his phone in traffic.

  9. >comparing the party to Donald Trump

*Coincidentally* the first line of attack from Fine Gaelers on this sub…makes you wonder if it’s coordinated

  10. SF have a lot to be attacked for, there is no doubt. My problem is that they’re trying to deflect from FG utter failure, cronyism and corruption.

  11. I seen a bit of it that mention Pearse Doherty was abusive to a garda 24 years ago. Christ on a bike, I have some info that says Leo Varadkar didn’t do his homework from back in the day. Lord does FG not realise hoe much of a show they are making of themselves.

  12. It’s absolutely pathetic how our politicians care more about their own imagine than running a country, they think the dail eireann is one big stage play.

  13. Embarrassing for FG and Leo. 18 pages of nonsense, why can’t they read the room – no one gives a fuck about this document when people are struggling to pay bills.

I’d respect them more if they created an 18 page plan on the housing crisis or cost of living. Gobshites.

  14. it doesn’t matter how they try to paint SF. At this stage, people would vote for a National Socialist Worker or a dictator over the current shower of incompetent/malevolent ff/fg leaders.

Also scaremongering over SF’s links to the IRA and terrorism won’t really work on Irish people – it’s not like it’s a shock / secret

  15. The article is paywalled. However, do they actually provide any evidence of the 18-page report, or is this unfounded rumour? The Independent is hardly the strongest exponent of journalistic standards

  16. > what Fine Gael see as the party’s inconsistent stances North and south

But the north and south have very different economies.

The alternative, that SF should campaign for identical policies north and south would be fundamentalism.

  17. Old news from the Indo, here’s 2020 saying hello!

    >Sinn Féin TD Eoin Ó Broin said he was not surprised by the application process because this is “type of negative campaigning Fine Gael are known for”. “This is a desperate attempt to distract from failed policies on health, housing and childcare,” he said. “They are also trying to get research on the cheap which is disappointing,” he added.

  18. I assume it’s make hopeless promises they will never keep to trick enough people into keeping them in power then just drop all these promises as they are unrealistic?

  19. Step one: comparing the party to Trump.

Aye yeah that will go well when you’ve an 18 point plan to basically emulate exactly how Trump flings shit at his opponents rather than ever trying to talk about meaningful policy.

  20. I hate this style of politics.

Focus on the issues please and stop wasting our tax this shite.

  21. I’d say that is common practice in any party I’d find it hard to believe that sinn Fein don’t have a similar strategy for attacking their political opponents
