(CNN) — President Donald Trump is facing increased pressure over rising gas prices, and energy experts say pain at the pump is only going to get worse.
Experts said gas prices are expected to average $5 a gallon in the coming weeks.
Crude oil is forecast to average $130 a barrel next quarter and could balloon to $150 a barrel.
Energy analysts said the only way to ease that pressure is for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen.
The strait has been logjammed since the Iran war started in late February.
Trump has taken steps designed to limit the damage, including easing some sanctions on Russia and Venezuela and using the U.S. oil stockpile.
But the energy crisis continues.
The White House said these are temporary disruptions and that once traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is normalized, energy prices will drop.
