The verdict on Long Covid in children: ‘No other illness has impacted under-18s more’

  1. Wow and that’s before we consider the psychological damage those kids have had from the pandemic itself (yes we all have, but it affects kids more)

  2. > Nearly one in 20 secondary school pupils in England has long Covid after their most recent infection

As with most things long covid related, that sounds like utter rot.

  3. Anyone know how long before we get under 5 vaccines? The USA just approved it and we usually follow quite closely

  4. My cough still hasn’t gone away since i got covid in May. I know at least 3 people who just never got their taste back one of those had it over a year ago.

  5. With [2 million](https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/bulletins/prevalenceofongoingsymptomsfollowingcoronaviruscovid19infectionintheuk/1june2022) people with it already and we are gaining about 100-200k a month depending on waves of Omicron its going to be a disease where everyone knows someone with it very soon. Its impacting people of all ages but clusters in 18-24 and 40-50, so mostly working age people but it can impact anyone and its unfortunately quite often utterly life changing disability.

  6. Trash journalism, does not define “long covid” and does not link original source so no easy way to find out for yourself. Who hires these people?

  7. So much for kids ‘not being effected by it’, a line that we all knew was bullshit from the start and an excuse to keep the schools open, and the kids parents in work.

What a legacy; among other things, they attack the disabled by weaponising the benefits system, underfund and dismantle the NHS in an attack on the health of the nation, and now this. How does one sue a political party for malicious mis-management and neglect?

  8. I’d wager depression is several times more prevalent, which will have only been exacerbated by all the pointless lockdowns.

Give it a fucking rest with all the covid hyperbole.

  9. But children dont get it we were told time and time again. Then children are less likely to get it.

Now here we are at the adult perspective where politicians cant say shit as the data is there. No one wants to argue with the scietist about data (Just trust me, dont pick that fight).
