  1. I don’t remember, was there the obnoxious self congratulatory circlejerk about her being the FIRST FEMALE CHANCELLOR OMG. Not from her in particular, but in general.

  2. Lets be honest overall she was absolute trash she was environment minister in the 90s and as chancellor we lost the leading role in photovoltaik and in general a great slow down in more ecologic energy etc

under her leadership a rightwing nationalist party became strong enought to sit in the parliament

her party with a leading role in the european parliament are responsible for the worst new laws of the century like article 13 copyright law that leads to uploadfilters

under her leadership also happend a lot of corruption cases but only a tiny amount got punished nearly zero and laws where adjusted to protect support such political corruption and the worst part the one to overview and may use punitive actions in case of corruption in the parliament is Wolfgang Schäuble a guy involved in a few corruptionscandals like with weapondealers and more and he even steped back at some point because of this but came back like nothing ever happend a few years later

i think the only real positive thing one could say about her if you sum up all her fails and archivements her biggest ded was not to start ww3 on a whim

… btw i dont give her points for how she handled the refugee crisis to help people in need is nothing good or special its something you just should do as a human with ethics

  3. In about 5 years we will scroll upon an article about her being in Gazprom director board or running some big russian funded company that doesnt have a defined purpose.

  4. Imagine if she left just before she opened Germany’s doors to Migrants.

She would have been considered the greatest leader of all time.

  5. Meh.

    Stability over vision.

    Stagnation over progress.

“Steering the ship through the storms” over “actually goin somewhere”.

She was competent and did well, but without a real goal excepting trucking on.

  6. What is up with all these Angela Merkel posts lately ?

Can you please stop, and let her slip into the anonymity/unimportance she truly deserves ?

    Thanks.

  7. I know nothing about her, but let me guess; she is a politician who promised fruitful things her entire life and maybe pulled through with two of them. Just so you guys know; it’s the same over here…

  8. Post-WW2 Germany: Let’s repair the mistakes of the past

Merkel: Let’s bring in millions of people who are homophobic, anti-Semitic, and against women’s rights

  9. 16 years and the country is basically stagnating … We needed a switch like 8 years ago.

And now we have either scholz or laschet … oh boy.

  10. 4 years ago, on June 30, 2017, Angela Dorothea Merkel voted against gay marriage in Germany

    Don’t deify this woman

  11. If the new government isn’t formed within the next 26 days she will overtake her former mentor Helmut Kohl as the longest serving chancellor of the Federal German Republic. (2nd longest if we go back all the way and count Bismarck)

  12. 10 years later she made the infamous “Wir schaffen das” speech and caused a migration crisis which led to eurosceptic and nationalistic parties gaining power, Germany’s migration policy also directly contributed to BREXIT.

  13. And she has been a disaster for Europe. 2015 was a catastrophe. And the reason we have increased violence and insecurity in Europe. Colone in Germany they tried to cover up.
