I think it’s fair to say if the world is short x million tons of grain then the poorest x million people will face starvation.
I’m not sure what we can do about it besides arming Ukraine. You can try threatening Russia to let the grain be grown/harvested and shipped by boat from Ukraine instead of everything being bombarded, stolen and blockaded but Russia is just going to threaten to use their nukes.
USA giving Ukrainians anti-ship weapons is about as good as it gets.
I think Romania recently agreed to help ship some Ukraine grain by rail, it’s a step in the right direction but it’s not going to be enough.

And once again this is about our money. Getting kinda tired of this, the global south support Russia and hate on us when times are good, then every time something go wrong, we have to be the one to bail them out while our own citizens are fighting high inflation at home. They should just be real glad we aren’t banning our food exports to control food prices like India just did.

To know that Russia planned this all along, having access to UN assessments and plans they know all the weak points to mess the lives of people in reliance, such evil.

Sad to say but Putin wins, millions of starving refugees cross the med plunging Europe into more economic pain on top of gas, oil, food increases. Right wing parties gain even more support.
Only way to prevent this is to throw as much weapons to Ukraine as possible immediately!

Have you forgotten that to solve certain conflicts, the UNITED NATIONS EMERGENCY FORCE was issued with peacekeepers (Blue Helmets) deployed to make people chill?
If you want the Ukraine War to stop you have to get in the game and spank the bully (Putin) for his nasty behaviour.
This UN plee like most UN plees is useless and pointless the issue is the marginal calorie since the world is short on wheat corn rice and other simple calories.
Capitalism dictates prices will go up until the weakest will not be able to afford them moving Western money around will not change the amount of calories available
it will only skew the starvation chart to some other direction beyond the natural one same amount of people will die just different people.
This is obvious.
If you give money to Black Africa then the Arabs will starve instead give enough money to both theoretically than Indians and South Americans will starve instead.
