After CEO Philip Jansen awarded himself a 32% pay rise, I hope the CWU get the member turn out with a high % towards a yes vote.
BT Group regularly sent out emails to the employees bragging about smashing targets and record profits each quarter. All to then turn around and say that there’s no money in the pot for a significant pay rise. Those at the lowest rung in the ladder that should get the highest of 8% don’t actually qualify for the pay rise. As they haven’t been in the company for a full year. Yet BT Group still use them as PR for the “highest pay rise in company history”. That’s after no pay rises for the past two years, all while driving engineers and field workers into the ground during the pandemic!
Good luck to them. Bt seem to be boasting about profits a lot so they can’t plead poverty when it comes to pay discussions.
Good for them. I hope to hear of more workers striking in the near future if they have been offered pathetic pay rises.
