  1. How do you get caught growing a few plants ? were they up to other shady stuff? or were they total noobs and their attic was glowing orange under a IR camera?

  2. Headline: “West Cork man sentenced for growing cannabis for his ill father”

Actual Story: West Cork Man got community service for growing cannabis plants. He sourced the seeds from his dad, who lives in the UK and whose illness ~~is not treatable by~~ has nothing to do with smoking cannabis.

  3. Ireland really needs to legalize. Prohibition doesn’t work. It’s a drain on the resources of the country, which would be better used going after violent crimes. It is literal medicine that can treat a variety of tough symptoms. It is far less harmful than alcohol… wtf Ireland.

  4. Is this an Irish thing to always that i see in such articles allowed to post a guys addresses an everything i think its bit fuked up

  5. Judge giving 90 days in prison to empower the war on drugs and criminal gangs. Judge belongs in prison not him.

What is this worth to the decentralized free market drug industry 1 million, 2million?

  6. Grow up ! Ireland … Legislate – Regulate – Revenuate – Rehabilatate … Simple Logic , Whats Blocking it ???? Follow the Money … Jazz Pharmacuticals for a start …. It is the plant of a thousand cures .

  7. I mean let’s be fair here lads without these easy charges and arrests what else can the guards use to fluff up there figures. Amazing to think that the same politicians who will agree with the eu on everything. Are the same ones who disagree with cannabis being legal even though the likes of Germany are looking at decriminalisation and also possible recreational use.

But nah Ireland would sooner haul someone up in front for the courts and have them named and shamed so fucking Mary the local gossip can revel in reading about in the courts in brief in the local paper. All the while the same officers are flat out shoving the finest of Colombian up there noses knowing they don’t get drug tested so haven’t a fucking care in the world.

  8. Another beautiful victory for the war on drugs. Those vile home growers are running out of places to hide thanks to the hundreds and hundreds of millions we spend on the special drug task forces who hunt these growers down. Soon the dangers of this lethal drug will be behind us as we go cannabis free here. Well done Garda, you’re absolutely winning public hearts here…

  9. >Orin Cooney, 25, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and to cultivating plants that, on maturity, would have had a value of €6,400.

Or a value of €640 if not sold in ballsbridge

  10. Probably cost the public tens of thousands of Euros to catch and convict these dangerous criminals. Money well spent.
