Area residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted electronics during a free recycling event hosted by General Motors at its Bedford Casting Operations facility on June 3, according to a community announcement.
The electronics recycling event is being offered in observance of World Environment Day and is organized by General Motors’ Environmental team at the Bedford facility. The event will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. at GM Bedford Casting Operations, Entrance No. 3, located at 105 GM Drive in Bedford.
According to the announcement, the event is intended to help households responsibly recycle electronic waste that may be taking up space at home. Most electronic devices are 100% recyclable, and the event is part of General Motors’ broader environmental stewardship efforts.
What items will be accepted

A World Environment Day electronics recycling event is planned at GM Bedford in early June.
The GM Bedford Environmental Team will accept most electronic items that contain a power cord or circuit board at no cost, according to the announcement. Accepted items include:
Cell phones and smartphones
Computers, keyboards and computer mice
Gaming consoles and systems
Items not accepted
