BIG RAPIDS — A planned rally is set for Saturday, May 23, in Big Rapids, to show opposition to the war in Iran and its impact on the local economy.
“Continual reports show that the war in Iran is negatively affecting Michigan’s economy in 2026 by driving up energy costs, accelerating inflation, and depressing consumer sentiment to record lows,” it said in a news release from Indivisible West Central Michigan. “Indivisible West Central Michigan has organized a peaceful protest to demand an end to the Trump Administration’s unauthorized war in Iran.”
The rally is titled: “His War, Our Dollars” and will take place:
“Indivisible is a progressive grassroots organization dedicated to non-violent, peaceful activism with more than 2,500 registered groups across the country. Indivisible goals include saving democracy and defeating authoritarianism. Democracy is for everyone,” it reads in the press release.
