In the US when you apply for a marriage visa, the US spouse is required to sign a document agreeing that they will be liable for funding them if they are incapable and to ensure they won’t become a “public charge”.
If you drag someone from Poland to the US and after a couple of weeks decide that you’d rather not deal with them anymore, you’re still 100% liable and can be sued for compensation by the Gov if they end up needing to rely on benefits
I have exactly 0 idea why we didn’t impliement this policy here.
So refugee Tinder is working out as well as expected.
Yeah we have a housing shortage so sadly permenant accomodation is limited.
Of course the best way to deal with this. Is to make sure everyone who washes up on our shores without an ID and the correct sob story can live here indefinitely.
That will definitely mean we’ll be able to house genuine asylum seekers and Brits who have been in temporary accomodation for years.
As long as middle class virtue signallers can feel better about themselves who gives a fuck right?
How long before Patel suggests Rwanda as an alternative?
It’s not surprising this has happened, given how half-arsed and rushed the scheme was by the Tories, it was more about getting EU nations to stop bothering than them than any genuine desire to help. It was about good headlines today, not a long-term plan to help refugees settle into their own lives as soon as possible. I expect many will look to the likes of Ireland in the near future to find a more welcoming country.
I think Rwanda is a reasonable idea for the fascist Government U.K.
System got filled with economic migrants so now when we need to house real refugees we can’t.
Thousands of briton’s homeless and living on the streets, but hey where is the story in that.
At risk of sounding like a far-right lunatic we have plenty of British families who are homeless or on the brink of of homelessness, so it’s no surprise refugees are facing the same problem.
