George Balanchine: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The Corps de Ballet of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, directed by Eleonora Abbagnato, presents Balanchine’s enchanting A Midsummer Night’s Dream to music by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy – its first staging at the Teatro Costanzi. The production belongs to the house’s wide-ranging 2025–26 dance season, which spans Tchaikovsky to Pina Bausch. Teatro Costanzi.
Giuseppe Verdi: La Traviata

The highlight of the summer season is a revival of the celebrated 2016 production of La Traviata, directed by Sofia Coppola with costumes by Valentino Garavani, Maria Grazia Chiuri, and Pierpaolo Piccioli, and sets by Nathan Crowley. On the podium is conductor Francesco Ivan Ciampa. The stellar cast features soprano Ermonela Jaho as Violetta on 21, 26 and 30 June, Nadine Sierra on 24 June, and Ekaterina Bakanova on 23, 25, 27 and 28 June.
Tenor Dmitry Korchak sings Alfredo on 21, 23, 28 and 30 June; Xabier Anduaga on 24 and 26 June; and Antonio Poli on 25 and 27 June. The role of Giorgio Germont is taken by Enkbath Amartuvshin (21, 23, 26, 28, 30 June), Luca Salsi (24 June), and Misha Kiria (25, 27 June). Chorus master: Ciro Visco. Teatro Costanzi.
