Galerne is not rare. It’s a sudden drop in temp accompanied by high wind and occurs all the time in the summer
As rare as it was, it was forecasted since 1 or 2 days.
Still, feeling this drop in temp almost instantly was AMAZING
We have similar conditions happening periodically here in Melbourne over summertime.
Typically, the temperature builds up every day until one day when ‘the change’ comes in and just drops it by one degree every minute.
It mostly comes in fast from the SW, often looking spectacularly like a massive dark wall of clouds.
Once there was a drop from 40 down to 20 in just 20 minutes.
It is always a relief for us after a few very hot days and nights.
