Organizers said they are proud to bring this level of economic support to the community. “Monterey kind of sells itself, you know, you have the nature, you have hotels, you have the aquarium, you got the wharf. There’s so many things here for people to do. And, you know, so we kind of lean into that,” said Dan Shehan, organizer for the California Roots Festival.Festivalgoers shared their excitement about making the event part of a larger trip to enjoy the area’s attractions.”We always do something when we’re here because, like she said, this is our fourth time, so we’ll go, like, downtown, Cannery Row and everything like that. But we did Santa Cruz Beach boardwalk yesterday.” said Kevin Baugh, an attendee.The festival features a stacked lineup, with Estrella and Sensamotion performing earlier in the day and Ice Cube set to headline Friday night.
