  1. I worked in the gaming industry for years and watched many attempts to make esports popular to mainstream audiences. The reality is it’s not going to happen….. yet.

Esports finds it’s audience very well online and so that should continue. In fact, esports is a large reason why anyone under 30 has no time for terrestrial TV. Why would they?

So trying to cram it on to this outdated medium designed for old fuckers like me is just lip service. Nice to see, but not a sign of a trend. Esports is happy where it is. Rte is just box ticking.

  2. Esports and mainstream TV does not work and never will.

Keep it to twitch and YouTube etc. That’s where it grew and puts the monetisation into the teams / players hands

  3. Or maybe show some actual PVP

Quake, doom, counter strike, unreal tournament, literally anything else other then Minecraft lol

Not hating on the show but if you want people to tune in it’s got to be exciting to watch

  4. It’s free content for them really if they wanted to do a load more local esports events. Give a 20k prize pool, bunch of fixed cameras for the majority. Get a bunch of film students in to run the place. Could do the whole job for pennies really and stream it on Twitch too for bonus nerd cred. That being said esports not eSports 🙂

  5. This is sick I didn’t know about it until I seen your post, I’d love to see Halo or Call of Duty one day broadcasted they’re my favourite esports.
