Boris Johnson’s ethics adviser has accused him of “making a mockery” of the ministerial code in a letter announcing his resignation.
Lord Geidt, who quit on Wednesday following a protracted dispute with the Prime Minister over partygate, said the Government had planned a “deliberate and purposeful” breach of the code that put him in an “impossible and odious position”.
The peer accused Mr Johnson of failing to fully justify his actions over partygate, but revealed he had finally resigned over a row with the Prime Minister over trade policy, thought to involve tariffs on foreign steel imports to protect UK firms.

Geidt is not wrong.
Boris, he just doesn’t Geid-it!
Weird because Gudio Fawkes assured me this wasn’t the reason for his resignation
Geidt revealing what anyone with a femtogram of intelligence already knew. That Boris is a lying, venal cunt.
Championing the tory mantra of cuts and calling a spade a spade, Boris is readvertising the post as the minstrel code.
Yes, we know.
“making a mockery”
Should be on his tombstone.
