> If u get covid regs FPN u can either admit guilt or go to ct to challenge it. If PM and CX admit guilt, accepting that police right that they breached regs, then they are also admitting that they misled the House of Commons. Or are they going to challenge?
But it’s uncontroversial that Johnson misled. No-one in the Commons with a remaining brain cell would dispute it. He told the Commons that all rules were followed, but the Met issued 128 fines – a pretty strong indication that some rules were not followed.
The issue in the inquiry is whether he did it knowingly.
Sure, let liars investigate themselves… ought to turn out just fine. :/
OK then. Choose a Conservative backbencher to lead the work. Fingers crossed you don’t pick one of the 148 who also think he’s a liar and a liability.
There are 359 Conservative MPs. Of that, 160 have some role within government and (assuming they aren’t cowards) should have resigned before opposing Johnson in the confidence vote. So for the sake of argument let’s assume they all supported their boss. That means only 51 Conservative backbenchers supported Johnson which gives this Minister, even if they hand pick their preferred chair, only a 1 in 4 chance of finding a Johnson ally.
She must be doing something right if they want her to stand down.
Of course. She’ll make mincemeat of the lying oaf in Downing Street

Can’t have anyone cos everyone already knows he is a liar.
There’s a load of Tories on that committee…. But must pick on the woman who correctly labels Boris as a liar.
If only Tory Ministers were as keen to call out liars and cheats around the cabinet table, we wouldn’t need an inquiry
Weak sauce. Whereas Briant used the word “liar” about Johnson, Harman only [said](https://twitter.com/HarrietHarman/status/1513903941603450884) that he ‘misled’:
