Iran said that it had prepared alternative routes and contingency measures to counter the effects of the US naval blockade, stressing that the situation would not create major disruptions, Iran International reports.

“Regarding the naval blockade, the government has already designed alternative routes, and there is no problem in this regard,” government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said.

Mohajerani also addressed ongoing negotiations, stating that one of the key obstacles had been what she described as “contradictory” messaging from the opposing side.

She added that Iran currently remains in a strong diplomatic and military position amid the escalating tensions.
