Should’ve built it on a space station, would’ve worked out cheaper.
Shocked yellow Pokemon face thingy.
There’s some cunts out there making an absolute mint from this
This joke just never ends.
Bam are known for this.
One of the smallest countries in the world, building one of the most expensive buildings ever built as an addition to a sub-standard health system, the will only serve a small portion of the population. Absolute madness.
Don’t get me wrong, a brand new children’s hospital is a great investment. But for 1.7+Bn we should have a new children’s hospital and at least 2 or 3 badly needed new regional hospitals.
No exaggeration to say that the highly paid Germans would have built between 6-10 hospitals for the same money, why haven’t heads rolled? This is our money, your kids will be repaying this for their whole lives.
Newspapers and broadcasters are getting some mileage out of that headline. You could probably change the date and slap it onto the front page of the paper at least four more times before it’s finished.
Government should have x % of their salary pegged v budget performance
4Bln…if we reach that number, just remember that’s roughly the cost that NASA are projecting per each mission to the moon. The costs will then be literally out of this world.
And yet we have junior doctors about to strike because they’re working shifts you wouldn’t expect a slave to do
Not a doctor myself but saw one speaking on Ireland am this morning about the situation. My heart breaks for people like doctors and nurses in this country. Imagine the government throwing money at a hospital like this while scrimping on spending to recruit and working the healthcare staff like slaves. Fucking bullshit
Don’t blame them all for emigrating
This is what happens when the department of health decide to go ahead with a tender without a final design.
It’s been a disaster since day one.
Honestly do not believe that the skill set to manage designing and constructing projects is just not in the civil service or even political layer anymore. Even hiring and resourcing the project and being able to see problems with it. And even push back on design when it starts to look expensive. If there was any they left to go to the private sector.
Be near 5 billion before any equipment is installed, ffs only in Ireland
Colour me surprised.
Why not just burn money as sacrifice to the God of Health at this point? It’d probably cost less.
