“What better way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon than with musical stories and a glass of wine?”

FlagShakes is presenting a second season of the Sunday Cabernet Cabaret series.

“Over the Rainbow” features a lineup of special guest artists, accompanied by Bill Haworth on piano and songs that celebrate PRIDE month, Father’s Day and the Summer Solstice, 3 p.m., Sunday, June 21.

“Beaver Street Goes Country” showcases vocalist Stephen Edwards, returning with outlaw anthems and moving ballads from favorite artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton, plus his popular tribute to Johnny Cash, 3 p.m., Sunday, July 5.

“The Bard on Broadway” reveals what happens when playwright William Shakespeare collides with the Big Apple, as FlagShakes takes the audience on a cabaret tour of Shakespeare-inspired musicals, 3 p.m., Sunday September 6.

The Cabernet Cabaret series is produced, written and directed by Lynn Timmons Edwards, an Arizona writer and reviewer for Cabaret Scenes, the publication and website for the American Songbook Association based in New York City.

“The art of cabaret brings singers together in an intimate space where the audience can listen to every lyric and experience the story of a song from a new perspective,” she said. “What better way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon than with musical stories and a glass of wine?” FBN
