Boat trips are organized on it for tourists. The trip also visits a cave somewhere in the center, which is pretty nice too.
There are hundreds of griffon vultures circling above the area, it’s a majestic view. You can also take a look at them from a cliff spot (quite a car drive or very long walk though) to see them much closer. I think Uvac is a must-see if you are visiting Serbia.
How long before that bottom meander short-circuits?
Imagine having this as a country border
Winnetou approves!
I like it.
Snek.
Wow that’s amazing and based on Nick Zentner and his geology lectures one can see that the river formed the terminal meander before the up lift occurred and just kept wearing away it’s meander path as fast as the mountains uplifted. Nick talks about a similar situation in one of his geology videos.
I find it quite amazing that a river can meander this much through rock, usually this type of river forms are in areas with fairly loose or soft soils on flatland such as clay or loes plains.

Now that’s a real Snake River!
Can you canoe on that?
Now that’s a Meandertal.

Looks like an Italian road.
Looks like it’s drying up unfortunately.
