>Two years on, however, the EU is far from that goal. A tracker launched in December 2021 to monitor progress shows that, as of 15 June, the EU has planted 2,946,015 trees – not even 1% of the three billion goal.
[…]
>According to the Commission, it is estimated that almost 300 million trees grew every year between 2010 and 2015. The aim is to double this to reach 600 million per year, which would equal three billion additional trees by 2030, compared to the business as usual scenario.
>However, the year-on-year numbers so far have fallen far short of the EU’s goal. For instance, as of April 2022, just 112,342 trees had been planted this year.
This article claims that:
– between 2010 and 2015, 300 million new trees “grew” (were planted?) per year
– within the two years after agreeing to plant more trees, only 3 million trees have been planted in total – a reduction of 99.5%
– within the first 4 months of 2022, only 112,000 trees have been planted, which equals 336,000 per year – a reduction of 99.9%
Additionally to all of this, they are trying to tell me that Germany has planted a total of 10,000 trees in two years?
There are single forests where tens of thousands of trees are being planted every year.
I’m not even going to go into Eastern and Northern European countries apparently not planting any trees at all.
All of this seems like a data collection issue, which says nothing about what is actually happening on the ground.
No instead countries like Romania have jolly good time felling every tree in sight
LOL, what is this? 10 trees planted in Germany in one year? Where are they getting their numbers from?

I think we can agree that the germans could do a little better compared to their peers.
this is part of the EU’s biodiversity strategy

Without a diagram that compares the actual existing trees with the goal absolutely senseless.
Look at Poland.
I’m doing what i can guys, but no rain makes it very hard.
I can say that forests have been growing in France for a while, and it’s not because of planted trees.
Sweden and Finland = no trees confirmed.
I know for a fact the Hungarian stat is wrong, I planted one last year!
I’m sorry, but this is utter nonsense.
