North Fayette Valley closed out a busy opening week of the baseball season on Friday night as the TigerHawks took on Lisbon at home for their fifth game in as many days.
The Lions got out to a 2-0 lead after the first half of the opening inning before the TigerHawks responded by plating two of their own runs.
The two teams went to the second inning tied at 2-2 before Lisbon would make its move and take control. The Lions lit up the scoreboard for 15 runs in the inning to take a 17-2 lead and dim the TigerHawks’ hopes of victory with five more runs in the third and fourth to get the 22-3 win in four innings.
Cain Rodgers had two of NFV’s three total hits in the game as he, Drew Stolka, and Ryan Hines also accounted for runs.
The TigerHawks had to use several pitchers to get out of the second inning as four total pitchers saw time on the mound with Jamison Tilleraas taking over in the third where he struck out three batters over his brief two innings of work.
